Parliament Logjam: Is there any GREEN to clear the JAM and make something happen!
Over the past couple of weeks, we, the people of India, have witnessed the insanity and profanity of the Constitution inside the Parliament. And it is done by whom? The very persons whom we have elected hoping that some change will happen as opposed to the previous dull and useless five years wasted by the UPA under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh who was in turn supervised by the UPA leader Ms. Sonia Gandhi. The President's address on the eve of 69th Independence Day of India highlights the present situation which India is going through, and Sri Modi, PM of India is rightly concerned that the present situation reminds of the emergency.
Why were the last two weeks wasted without any work being done? Why were the leaders, who ought to be responsible, acted like street vendors, selling whatever they had, irrespective of the fact, whether there is any buyer or not. Parliament, during the last two weeks, had shred its image of democratic institution and more or less revealed how Colosseum would have been with two beefy men fighting while the spectators shouting and enjoying. For what? To see the men fighting in blood and ultimately one person killing the other. Parliament has become a one. Congress and BJP instead using the Parliament to take the nation forward through constructive argument, the debate has been destructive. It has become Personal. I give a damn, if Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi belong to Gandhi Parivar which has for so long ruled so long, in the name of democracy however, it is not different from dynasty, and has done nothing for this country, except Rahul Baba eating a piece of meal in Dalit family in every visit to Amethi, That too during elections.
Adjournment has been happening so frequently, that every time, the session begins, the ritual is like 'schools begin with prayer' and 'session in parliament begins with adjournment'. Moreover, I did not understand the stand of the Congress. It was asking the External Affairs Minister to step down because she had allegedly helped another Mr Modi (IPL scamster) to get visa in the UK. Well, whether she is right or wrong in helping Lalit Modi, is not worthy to be discussed here because case is under investigation by the Chennai Police and the role of Sushma Swaraj will definitely be brought to notice of the nation. But why did Congress choose Parliament to force her resign. Parliament is the house of people. How can they fight out their personal grudge in the House of People.
And what more! Congress wanted Prime Minister to speak on the issue of her involvement with Lalit Modi. While there are agencies to solve such kind of great mysteries, both the parties, BJP and Congress, need to rise above personal grudges and show respect to each other and work towards national development. GST Bill is yet to be taken for discussion which is awaited since the Independence.
We are enjoying the 69th year of freedom and we as a nation should be proud of our Constitution and try to uphold it.
It is most likely that a special session will take place, it has to be seen whether some work will carry on, and it has also to be seen if both parties will adhere to the principles of Democracy,
